day 6. skiing. sunday river. 12/13.

i was impressed that kasmira managed to bring her ski gear home on her own after school so she could ski this weekend. well, almost. she has two pairs of skis so she didn't need to bring them and she didn't bring her poles (i'd love to get a second pair of those). anyway, i had to work both days this weekend and she spent saturday at her friend cassie's house (at the farm we used to live at actually) but today she wanted to go. i have started taking the explorer to work and today she christened a new era by taking it there herself. this will be one of the big bennies of living where we live. as an employee, i had no trouble picking up her poles and realized an even easier option might be to just get free rental snowboard boots and she can just ride on the weekends and ski during the week. that way she won't even have to bring her boots back and forth. i'd still really like to get her a locker at barker. anyway, it was free skiing day for bethel residents so a bunch of her friends were out. she gets a little frustrated because she is so much better than them but sometime i wish she could just relax and enjoy the time with her friends. she skied alone toward the end of the day. we all wound up riding home on the explorer together which i thought was a lot of fun. she doesn't realize it yet, but over the next six years that shuttle bus is going to be an incredible asset for her. and today was the first day...
