day 68. skiing. sunday river. 2/21.

kasmira took the day off snow. i did the barker/locke/white cap route. the snow wasn't quite as good as yesterday because it didn't warm up as much and it was a bit firm. the biggest excitement was getting to the top of white cap just in time for the wind hold. the winds were howling and before zane even got there to do the wind check heath came out of the ski patrol shack and told us to call last chair. i was on the controls hitting slows and it seemed like forever before last chair got there. some of those chairs were really swinging. i skied down and while the winds were furious at the top it didn't take too long on the way down before normalcy returned. that's the thing with wind holds: at the bottom you really have no idea how windy it is at the top.
